The illustrations in this bright,mini camera watch, cheerful paperback are so appealing that you have to pick it up to have a look. The poems are short and many have easily remembered lines which children rapidly join in with (the one about the cat is particularly funny). Suitable from 5 upwards,cheap china phones, many children will be able to read this alone after they have heard it once but reluctant readers will probably prefer to explore it with a friend or adult. Thoroughly recommended to children, parents and teachers.

This is a collection of mainly traditional Christmas poems (some of which are also the words of carols) together with some more modern ones. The layout is clear and easy to read with traditional style illustrations which fit the choice of poems but lack the eye-catching appeal to tempt reluctant readers. A good gift book for well-motivated 7-11 year olds who like reading and a useful resource book for teachers.

This well-established anthology contains a wide range of poems: some old,console cooler, some modern,lighted snowman, some well-known,maxi dress, some less familiar. There’s a variety of mood too ranging from light and humorous to pensive and, in some cases, sad with a welcome lack of sugary sweet sentimentality. Beautifully illustrated throughout in black and white and full colour,r4i pro, this is an excellent book  for adults and older children (12+) who enjoy poetry and a useful resource book for teachers. A book to keep on the shelf and dip into again and again.
