the long awaited sequel to Gameloft’s hack and slash Diablo style RPG

the long awaited sequel to Gameloft’s hack and slash Diablo style RPG : Dungeon Hunter. Dungeon Hunter 2 has finally arrived on the Apple iPhone. The story Dapeng T7000 takes place 25 years after the events of the first Dungeon Hunter. You take on the role of one of the Immortal king’s twin sons and embark on a journey ipad stylus that has you escaping from prison and then traveling across the realm of Gothicus to save everything that needs to be saved and to restore peace to these cursed lands. Dungeon Hunter 2 has received quite a few updates from the original release – for starters Gameloft have ramped up the graphical aspect of the game. STAR A3000 Taking advantage of the connection kit iPhone 4 retina display, images appear vibrant, sharper and much more detailed, take for example the first level (Prison Break) the ground looks absolutely stunning making you feel guilty that you’re walking around with those dirty boots on messing up the place. ipad keyboards Along with that the lighting effects when casting spells have vastly improved from the original. You also start off with your little lightening fairy Celest who can hurl lightning bolts at enemies which also look quite impressive when called to aid in battle. One thing missing which I thought would of made it into the sequel was voice acting. Unfortunately all the dialong in the game appears in text boxes and no one speaks, personally that was one thing I would of loved to see to draw you even deeper into the story.

Epic Games new Unreal 3 based title Infinity Blade, developed by Chair, went on sale in the iOS App Store last week and in 5 Bluetooth headsets days generated $1.6 million in revenue. At $5.99 per copy that comes out to around 267,000 copies.

The game itself is a combination of an RPG and a fighting game. It’s also pretty much rigged so you cannot ipad cover win initially based on your equipment and experience level.

The game begins with a soldier confronting “The God King”, and the dialog is in some language other than English and subtitled. The God King slays the soldier with his “Infinity Blade” and adds the mans strength and skill to his own. Apparently he has done this dozens of times. 20 years later, the player is attempting to take revenge for his fallen father. In order to reach the God King, you first must defeat several brutish opponents in single combat.

The combat works by swiping the screen to mimic sword action. In addition to slicing your opponent you can also parry (swipe the screen in the opposite direction of the enemy sim cutter sword swing), block (sheild button at the bottom), dodge left and right (arrow buttons in the lower corners), launch a super attack and use magic.

The magic system depends on what rings you have equipped. If you have a lighting ring, then you can cast lightning by tapping the magic meter in the upper right hand corner of the screen and drawing a lightning bolt on the screen with your finger. If you have a ring that supports multiple spells then the spell cast depends on the sigil you swipe on the screen. Shield for example, resembles an upside down U.

Before and after each fight you have the opportunity to loot your environment for gold sacks, health potions and chests. Sometimes you will also uncover better equipment. As you gain experience points and level up you can spend the money you have earned on better equipment, change out your stuff and visit the store.

When you die, and you WILL phone jammers die, you start at the beginning (“20 Years Later!”) with the same stats and equipment you had when you left off. The bloodline count goes up by one so I suspect the bragging rights here are to kill the God King in as few bloodlines as possible.

Graphically, this is the best looking ipad keyboards iOS game to date. It’s based on the Unreal 3 engine, first seen on iOS devices via the free app “Epic Citadel” which was done as a proof of concept for the engine. Playing it is a little challenging on the iPad as the left and right buttons to dodge are way, way out of easy reach for my thumbs.

Gameplay is a little ChangJiang W008 simplistic resulting in the screen-swiping equivalent of button mashing. The first run through may as well be a tutorial. I got all the way to the God King without the slightest risk of death, then got pounded into the ground. The 2nd and 3rd runs were much more challenging however and forced me to use the skills learned in the tutorial run.

I do have one beef from a UI ipad dock perspective in that there doesn’t seem to be a way to just quit the game and start over. Sure, you can press the home button and jump out of the app, but when you go back to it you’re dumped right where you left off. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but as I learned more about the game the more I wanted to start over and make better decisions.
